What Students Think About Dogs on Campus

Student Poll Question

A poll was conducted of students at a middle school we have been with for over 5 years. They were asked: "What can you tell us about the drug dogs that visit our campuses?"

Below are some of their responses.

Student Responses

"The drug dogs come and investigate the rooms that have been reported for search. Students are required to evacuate out of the classrooms. The drug dogs are very helpful and should be used more often to prevent drug usage at school."

"The drug dogs that visit our campus come to our classes and all the students go outside the class while the drug dogs check the backpacks. The dogs at our school are professionally trained so i know they won't hurt us. When the drug dogs come visit the school shows that they care about student's health."

"I think that the drug dogs are a good addition because if there were ever to be a situation where a student did bring such thing to school, the school would be able to find it, dispose of it, and inform their parents so their parents can be more secure about this type of thing."

"I think they are very helpful to find bad things in backpacks or on a person to keep the students safe from doing things that are bad for them. Then you can keep kids from giving other kids illegal substances."
